the dog days of april through october

our neighbors have dogs. 4 or 5, actually, very large dogs. i am sure deep down they are nice, really, but bored out of their minds.
the children, on the other hand, are now terrified of dogs, any dogs, to the point of hysterics and tears. the weather is nice now, so they want to play in the backyard, but the minute they get out there, the dogs start up, and it's all over...

Okay that was completely hilarious. And frightening.

Tina I really think you should go over and talk to the neighbors. Maybe you could figure out a schedule to get the dogs out of the backyard so your kids can play. It really isn't fair to have a backyard you can't use for fesr of being eaten.

Those dogs look like the transmorphing alien creature dog in "The Thing" - the one with Kurt Russell. Kim is onto something there too. It's a shame that your kids are learning to fear dogs like that. I might also suggest a garden hose long enough to reach from your spigot to their fence...amazing what a little errant hose spray whilst "watering your flowers" will do to teach a hound to leave you be. Oopsy-daisy.

Isnt it illegal to have more than like 3 dogs?

Have your sprinkler set up close to the dogs' fence, and turn it on just before you bring the kids out to play. If your neighbors complain about you watering their yard (and dogs) then you can have it out with them.
